Leger unveils new website

Leger Holidays has created a revolutionary new website that results in an enhanced booking experience, making it even easier for consumers to enjoy the best of Europe.
It is one of the FIRST travel companies to enable customers to download travel guide podcasts, making it even easier for guests to enjoy the best of Europe.

The new look website also includes an online booking facility and guests can view the Leger tours using Google Earth technology.

Leger has teamed up with the Paris-based company PocketVox, to offer audio destination guide books using podcast technology. The guides are available for purchase from only €5 and cover many of Leger’s city destinations across Europe, including Salzburg, Paris, Prague, Budapest and Rome.

The website also features Web 2.0 technology with map mash-ups and weather feeds for each destination and a community forum allowing visitors to contribute to the website and post notes for others to view.

Michael Rhodes, Web Development Manager at Leger Holidays, said: “This new website really takes advantage of how the web can act as a sales forum and help customers to browse and be inspired.

“Booking online has significantly enhanced our online offering and reinforced our already strong web presence. Furthermore, the technology will attract a new community of customers and provide another easy booking option for existing clients.

“I am particularly excited about the podcast feature, which enables people to download audio travel guides to take on holiday so that they can discover at their own pace the main monuments, artistic masterpieces and select districts in many of the world’s leading cities.
“The Google Earth technology provides extra destination information and satellite images available, inspiring customers to book something new.

“We have really aimed to ensure that the website is user friendly and this is achieved by the fresh and modern new look and easy navigation tools, as well achieving the ‘AAA website standard.”

In line with the new brochures for 2007, fresh layout design and simple navigation tools on the new website make it clear that Leger offers something for every taste, with holidays by coach, rail, sea-cruising and air, for families, couples, groups and single travellers. The new easy-to-find icons highlight the key features, including 25 ‘new’ holidays, ‘customer testimonials’ and ‘Silver Service’ option.
In January 2006, Leger was the first in the UK travel industry to have a website compliant with the W3C Organisation’s ‘AAA’ standard, highlighting its ease of use; the same accreditation has been awarded to the new website. Leger is the second travel company behind Thompson to offer podcasting guide books.
