Texas Tourism redesigns website

TravelTex.com, Texas Tourism’s official web site, has launched a complete redesign that is easier to navigate and offers visitors enhanced features such as international language landing pages and an entire section focusing on Texas music.

“Design and navigation changes were made based on feedback we received from national focus groups,” says Julie Chase, Chief Marketing Officer for Economic Development & Tourism, a division of the Office of the Governor. “We’ve streamlined the content, making it easier for site visitors to discover Texas’ exciting travel experiences and to start planning their Texas vacations.”

International pages and downloadable brochures are now available in Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Chinese. An easier to use TripMaker section will make planning a trip to Texas quick and easy. Additional Texas Web Cams provide visitors with an online look at some of Texas’ top destinations.

The enhanced Texas Music Section features profiles of some of Texas’ hottest musical talent, including Lee Ann Womack and Charlie Robison, a behind-the-scenes look at the origins and traditions of Texas music, and a listing of music events and music attractions. The Texas Radio link provides listeners from around the globe with online, streaming Texas music 24-hours a day. Visitors simply click on the Texas Radio icon on the Texas Music page to hear a variety of Texas artists and music genres.

Future features planned for TravelTex.com include an online photo diary and sweepstakes, downloadable podcasts, and additional Driving Tours with day trips and multi-day itineraries.
