Deilmann sees UK river cruising rise

Luxury river & ocean cruise specialist, Peter Deilmann Cruises, forecasts that river cruising will be one of the growing travel trends in 2007 as the public’s interest in cruising holidays continues to grow and the choice of vessels and itineraries continues to improve.2006 has been a very successful year for cruising in general, with an overall increase of 17% in the number of British holidaymakers taking a cruise.  More than 2,200 passengers enjoyed a holiday aboard one of Peter Deilmann’s luxury river vessels this year and the operator expects this figure to increase by at least 11% next year.

Peter Deilmann Cruises, recently voted ‘Best River Cruise Line’ by the readers of Cruise magazine, also welcomes the increasing competition from new players in the river cruising market, as it helps generate greater interest and consumer demand.

Desri Omer, Sales Promotions Manager of Peter Deilmann Cruises said “We are pleased to see that more people now recognise the huge appeal of river cruising.  It has got to be the most enjoyable and hassle-free way to explore Europe’s hidden treasures, its castles, cathedrals and picturesque villages.  It is also particularly appealing to those who are trying a cruise for the first time.”
