Watkins takes key European role at SITA

SITA has announced
the appointment of Rob Watkins as Regional Vice President, Sales and Relationship
Management, for Northern Europe.He heads a team of sales and customer service
professionals catering to the airport, airline and government sectors, generating
annual revenues of $159 million. 

In his current role, Rob has responsibility throughout the Nordics, Benelux, UK and
Ireland for developing customer relationships and ensuring the continued
contribution from SITA to the success of the industry.


“SITA has been through a significant change this year with the consolidation of
SITA INC and SITA SC and now with the single SITA organisation in place, we’re
moving forward to bring our customers new services, solutions and strategies that
will help them further improve their business operations,” said Rob Watkins.
“For example, SITA now provide VoIP to Mindpearl’s Contact Centres, saving them
75% on their communication costs, and London City Airport has outsourced its IT to
SITA to enable the airport to cope with growing passenger demand. Additionally, the
Nordic-based groundhandler, Northport, is now using SITA’s baggage management
services as significant rises in checked-in luggage is reported.”

Rob joined SITA with over 22 years experience in IT Sales and Marketing. His most
recent role was with LogicaCMG where he held the position of Sales Director for
their Transport and Infrastructure unit, prior to that he spent 11 years at Syntegra
(the consultancy business of BT) where he was responsible for the Travel and Leisure
