Wild Blue Yonder Magazine wins awards

HenryGill Advertising, has won three international design awards, including Platinum, at the 36th Creativity Annual Awards competition in New York for its design of Wild Blue Yonder Magazine, the in-flight publication for Frontier Airlines, produced by HenryGill for Mphasis on Frontier. Out of 3,000 international entries from 29 countries and 38 states, HenryGill won the Platinum award in the category of magazine cover design, which signifies it was the best in the category, for its “Indulge” cover of Wild Blue Yonder’s December, 2005 issue. It also won the Gold award in the same category for the design of its “Cool” cover of the June, 2005 issue.

HenryGill also won a Silver award in the Magazine Editorial Design - Multi-Page category for an article called “Best Western,” about the National Western Stock Show, which appeared in the October, 2005 issue of Wild Blue Yonder Magazine.

“Receiving a Platinum award means HenryGill’s cover design for Wild Blue Yonder has been recognized by a panel of judges to be the best in its category from all entries received from around the world,” said Tim Moran, Marketing Director for the 36th Creativity Annual Awards. “Out of 119 judging categories, only 60 entries met the highest scores and rigorous standards required by the judges to earn Platinum awards.” Moran added that in the Awards’ 36-year history, only a handful of in-flight publications have ever won the judging categories.

“We are extremely proud of Wild Blue Yonder Network. There are only six magazine issues published a year, and we are honored that three of those won international design awards,” said David A. Henry, CEO and president of HenryGill. “This recognition of multiple issues demonstrates that Wild Blue Yonder Magazine is the finest publication in the industry. We’ve designed the magazine to be a national quality lifestyle book that happens to be distributed on airplanes. Now we know that the concept has succeeded, and all of our advertising partners should be proud to be in this award-winning publication.”
