Starwood to manage Bahamas resort

Starwood Hotels has assumed management of the Radisson Cable Beach Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, and will reopen it as the Sheraton Resort at Cable Beach next year, following an $80 million renovation.
The Sheraton will be the first of four Starwood brands to debut as part of Baha Mar Resorts’ $1.6 billion development and rebranding of the Cable Beach area.

The top-to-bottom face-lift includes renovations to the hotel’s 691 guest rooms, lobby, restaurants and public spaces and marks the first phase of Baha Mar’s capital investment program.

The Nassau-based development company acquired the Wyndham, Radisson and Nassau Beach properties in May 2005 and embarked on an extensive renovation and upgrade program.

Baha Mar’s resorts will offer a total of 1,941 guest rooms and suites, more than 20 restaurants and lounges, a tennis facility, golf and casinos.
