easyJet urges price regulation for London

12th Dec 2006

easyJet has responded to the announcement that the Office of Fair Trading is to look at issues of compeition relating to BAA and London’s airports.Andy Harrison, easyJet Cheif executive commented:

“We welcome this, but the ownership of BAA it is not the biggest
issue.  What the OFT needs to look at is that all the BAA’s London
airports are local monopolies which need much more stringent price
regulation. Changing the ownership of BAA will not alter this
fundamental structural problem.”
