Global rail website launches

The train and ferry travel advice website www.seat61.com has launched a new microsite for customers to book global rail travel. With over 66,000 routes in Europe and North America, the new addition to the award winning website, gives customers the opportunity to purchase over 30 types of rail passes for travel in over 35 countries worldwide.

Launched in conjunction with established rail ticket providers International Rail, the website provides a quick and simple way to book rail travel with features such as real-time reservations and next day delivery of tickets, online tracking, maps and timetables.

Omid Golshan, European Director of Marketing for International Rail comments, “We are very excited to be working with Mark Smith, the Man in Seat Sixty One. He is widely recognised as the train travel guru, offering honest and practical advice on all aspects of train travel. The partnership is excellent news for consumers who can now read the advice, on the same trusted website. We are looking forward to a successful relationship especially at this time when rail travel is growing in popularity and ease of booking on the Internet is key to success.”

Mark Smith, the Man at Seat Sixty One said, “It’s all about making it easy for people to find out about and book safe, comfortable, train travel, a much more environmentally-friendly and rewarding way to travel than flying for journeys in Europe and around the world.  It’s great that linking with International Rail is helping me do just that.”
