Passkey, HBSi plan integration

Passkey and Hotel Booking Solutions Incorporated (HBSi) are planning to tightly integrate their platforms to provide the industry with the most robust connectivity for online group reservations.

Passkey, the travel industry’s leading solution for online group reservations, provides all channels of the meeting industry with better, more efficient ways to plan and manage event hotel reservations and housing. HBSi’s Demand ManagementTM solutions bring order and simplicity to the complex travel distribution environment by removing barriers between supply and demand, streamlining operations, and unlocking their customers’ full revenue potential.

Integration with Passkey represents a cornerstone of HBSi’s strategy to expand connectivity services for group reservations and group travel planners. The effort will enable hotel companies, convention bureaus, and other group management entities to utilize a robust, low-cost means to connect supply to distribution. A number of features and capabilities also become possible, including support for share reservations with separate arrival and departure dates for multiple occupants within a single room and separate payment methods for each guest. Furthermore, this integration provides the foundation for real-time synchronization of available rates and inventory.

“Our decision to pursue this integration effort satisfies the needs of the industry in a very meaningful manner,” said Larry Hall, HBSi CEO. “The industry needs richer, more robust capabilities from their technology partners that leverage the Internet and provide services at the lowest possible cost. HBSi and Passkey share a common vision to remain the industry leaders in our respective areas.”

The integration efforts will adhere to the OpenTravel Alliance (OTA) specifications. Passkey and HBSi vigorously support the OTA and its efforts to establish and expand the standards for the industry. “We’re delighted to see two great, leading-edge companies leverage the standards established by the OTA to bring expanded capabilities to the industry,” said Valyn Perini, OTA Executive Director.
