Spirit Airlines has filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin non-stop service between its Fort Lauderdale hub and Caracas, Venezuela.
This new service will bring immediate economic benefit to Broward County by providing a low fare means to travel to the U.S. from South America. Subject to government approval, this new route would be served by Spirit’s new, all Airbus fleet of aircraft, the youngest in the Americas.
“With our low costs, we’re able to offer low fares to one of South America’s most exciting destinations,” said Barry Biffle, Chief Marketing Officer of Spirit Airlines. “We’re bringing more people to Broward County from abroad than ever before while offering Broward County never before seen low fare options to international destinations.”
Spirit Airlines recently announced a Fort Lauderdale hub expansion with new non-stop service to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach and Providenciales and Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
