RADIUS has announced its new Board of Directors.RADIUS is the only major global network fully owned by its own travel management companies, so the Board represents all the shareholders setting the strategy and direction for the company and the senior management led by Tony Hughes, President and Chief Executive Officer of RADIUS.

The new appointments were Egil Riisnes, COP VIA, VIA Travel Group (Norway); Andrew Ross, Chief Executive Officer, Travelforce, CT Partners RADIUS (Australia); Michael Steiner, Executive Vice President, Ovation Travel Group (United States) and Jeronimo Vaqueiro, Vice President, Tropical Tours (Bolivia).  JJ Singh, General Manager; Weco Travel Poland (Poland) was re-elected to the Board. They join Guy Bernacchi, President, Best Travel (United States); Tony Hughes, President and Chief Executive Officer, RADIUS; Brian Robertson, Chief Operating Officer, Vision 2000 Travel Group, Inc. (Canada); Hanna Sawalha, Managing Director, Nebo Tours (Jordan); Bill Tech, CTC, President and Chief Executive Officer, Travel and Transport (United States); and Mauricio Ventura, General Manager, Agencia de Viajes Intertur S.A. (Costa Rica) on the Board.

The members of the Board then selected Bill Tech as Chairman, Brian Robertson, Vice Chairman, JJ Singh, Secretary, and Hanna Sawalha, Treasurer. Each Director, with the exception of the President and Chief Executive Officer of RADIUS, serves for a three-year term with a two-term limit.

The elections were held as RADIUS travel management company delegates, RADIUS senior corporate staff and key travel suppliers participated in two days of the Global Shareholder Meeting plenary and Annual General Meeting sessions at The WORLDHOTELS Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal on 15-16 November 2006. The agenda theme, “Clarity in a Complex Travel Environment” focused on industry trends, global business development, travel management technology and best practices. Tony Hughes offered: “The new Board is a true reflection of RADIUS. Through the combination of ten industry leaders and entrepreneurs from all regions of the world I am convinced that the RADIUS Board will direct the company to continued, and indeed, greater success and accomplishment through their collective vision and expertise.”
