The Leela Palaces and Resorts has appointed its first Director of Sales and Marketing Director based in the UK. Richard Paiva joins The Leela to focus solely on the UK and Irish corporate and leisure market. He will be responsible for the growth of sales in the UK and Ireland and heightening The Leela’s position as a 5-star luxury hotel and resort group for both business and leisure travellers.
Pavia will be tasked with creating brand awareness within the airline industry and fostering supplier deals with companies such as Jet Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa and BMI. He will also be responsible for building closer working relationships with tour operators in order to fully exploit The Leela’s growth.
Paiva joins The Leela from Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge, where, he held the position of Sales Manager and was responsible for handling over 90 Corporate Accounts, 25 Embassies and businesses from various Chambers of Commerce. Prior to this he worked at ITC Hotel Maurya Sheraton & Towers, New Delhi, where he was responsible with maintaining and maximising revenue.
