Travelport scoops market awards

Travelport has enjoyed a winning streak picking up a total of five prestigious travel industry awards. The first two awards, for achievements in travel technology, were presented at the World Travel Market - one of the world’s largest travel trade exhibitions. Galileo, Travelport’s leading global distribution system (GDS), was recognised as best air/hotel/shopping/booking system whilst sister company Octopus was awarded the accolade of best hotel online reservation system.

Travelport went on to collect three more trophies for its cabinet at the distinguished British Travel Awards, voted for by the UK travel trade.  At this ceremony, which took place on the final night of the World Travel Market, Galileo once again fought off competition from the other GDSs to collect the award for best travel technology provider.  GTA, Travelport’s leading travel wholesaler, won best UK coach operator and Octopus won a further award for best accommodation only provider.

“This is terrific news and brings further third party credibility to Travelport’s leading edge position in technology, customer focus and service excellence.  My praise goes to all the staff who have made winning these awards possible” said Jeff Clarke, president and chief executive officer for Travelport.
