InterConti joins MasterCard data program

MasterCard Worldwide has announced that InterContinental Hotels Group will participate in the MasterCard enhanced folio data program. With the addition of the IHG properties, MasterCard corporate customers can now receive line item expense data from more than 11,000 hotels and resorts in the United States and Canada.

The MasterCard enhanced folio data program allows hotel expenses paid with a MasterCard corporate card, including room, tax, meal, telephone, business center fees and other in-room charges, to be electronically-delivered to the company’s expense management systems. This allows corporations to streamline the employee expense reporting and accounts payable processes along with enabling better monitoring of spending to ensure corporate T&E policy compliance.

Beginning in January of 2007 more than 2600 IHG properties in the United States will join the MasterCard enhanced folio data program. The IHG family of brands includes InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, and Hotel Indigo.

“The agreement with IHG is an important step in our strategy to create a seamless global data infrastructure that supports our expanding corporate card offerings in North America and around the world,” said Gareth Forsey, group executive, U.S. Commerce Development, MasterCard Worldwide. “The MasterCard enhanced folio data program is the only one that provides corporations with high quality, detailed data allowing them to integrate expense reporting with existing accounting systems and efficiently manage their corporate card programs.”

“We are pleased to join the MasterCard enhanced folio program, which will allow us to provide our customers with more detailed and timely data on hotel expenses - a significant component of any company’s T & E spending,” said Stephen Powell, Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales, IHG.
