Travelodge to create 400 new jobs

Travelodge has
created 400 new jobs throughout the UK as part of its aggressive expansion programme
to have 32,000 rooms by 2010.At present the company has 291 hotels (18,500 rooms)
in the UK, Ireland and Spain.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Travelodge are opening 17 new hotels in major cities
and towns across the UK.

The 17 new Travelodge hotels will be located in : Peterborough City Centre, Caterham
Whyteleafe, Stanstead Airport (Great Dunmow), Romford Central, Barnstaple, Ludlow,
Hatfield Central, Kendal, Birmingham Maypole (City centre), Ayr, Manchester Trafford
Park, Hereford, Camberley, Croydon, Watford city centre, Birmingham Five Ways and
Sheffield City Centre

 

Travelodge have also introduced an intensive 12 week management training programme
for existing employees who are ready to develop their potential and become a hotel
manager of the future. During the 12 weeks, the individual learns how to:

The British Hospitality Association have announced in a recent report that workers
decline as hotel numbers rise - At Travelodge we disagree, in the last 3 years we
have opened 72 new hotels and created around 1500 new jobs. 

 

Since 2003 we have had a 30% increase in new jobs which equates to a 10% rise per year.

 

Within Travelodge’s aggressive growth plan, staff recruitment is key to enable each
hotel delivers a high level of customer service to its guests and plays a
fundamental part towards the success of running a hotel successfully.
