New appointment for Celtic Manor

The Celtic Manor Resort in South Wales has appointed Matthew Lewis as Lodge Manager, to oversee the smooth-running of one of the most luxurious clubhouses in Europe.

In his new role, Matthew Lewis will look after all aspects of The Lodge, including the golf, the food and beverage facilities, Dylans Health & Fitness Club and the Clarins Health Spa.

Matthew has had extensive experience in some of the best resorts in the UK, and joins The Celtic Manor Resort from Gleneagles, where he was Clubhouse Manager. During his career, Matthew has worked in both private members and commercial golf environments, delivering corporate golf hospitality throughout Europe and the highest standards of food and beverage services, culminating in him working on the G8 Summit at Gleneagles in 2005.

On joining The Celtic Manor Resort team, Matthew commented: “This is an incredibly exciting time in the development of The Celtic Manor Resort, especially in terms of the golf operation with both The Montgomerie and the Ryder Cup courses opening next year.  It is my responsibility to ensure that The Lodge offers world-class standards of service and facilities and I look forward to the challenges and rewards that working at such an acclaimed resort will bring.”

The Lodge offers a superb brasserie restaurant, two bars, a dining terrace overlooking the 18th green, function rooms for private dining, conference and banqueting suites, the Lodge Pro-Shop, Dylans Health and Fitness Club and a Clarins Health Spa. Dylans offers an impressive range of facilities including a 43-station gymnasium, a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.  The Clarins Health Spa has six luxurious treatment rooms offering an extensive range of Clarins spa therapies including luxury facials, massages, body treatments and a selection specifically for men.
