Air Canada flies Fort Lauderdale, Calgary

The departure of Air Canada flight AC 1202 marks the launch of non-stop, seasonal flights from Calgary to Fort Lauderdale, FL.Air Canada Inaugurates Non-Stop Seasonal Flights from Calgary to Fort Lauderdale, The “Venice of America”

Air Canada now operates weekly flights on Sundays from Calgary to the city known as “Venice of America”. The airline will increase service to three flights per week on December 17, in time for peak winter travel to this popular Florida destination.

“We are delighted to launch our non-stop flights from Calgary to Fort Lauderdale, bringing the Florida sun and surf five hours closer to Alberta,” said Daniel Shurz, Vice President, Network Planning. “This winter, Air Canada will offer a flight every day from Calgary to either Fort Lauderdale or Orlando in warm and sunny Florida. With the expansion of our North American fleet, we are deploying aircraft to grow our service to leisure destinations to meet travel demand.”

Air Canada flight AC1202 departs Calgary on Sundays at 10:35, and arrives in Fort Lauderdale at 17:40. Air Canada flight AC1203 departs Fort Lauderdale on Sundays at 18:30, and arrives in Calgary at 22:20. Effective December 17, flights to Fort Lauderdale will depart Calgary on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights are timed to facilitate convenient connections from Vancouver, Edmonton, Fort McMurray and Lethbridge. All flights are operated with the 120-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, offering a choice of Executive or Economy class service.

Air Canada is the leading carrier between Canada and Florida offering more non-stop flights than any other airline. This winter, Air Canada will offer 184 non-stop flights weekly to seven destinations in Florida from four cities across Canada.

Within Canada, the carriers operate more than 960 non-stop flights per day on 131 routes to and from 67 Canadian airports. Between Canada and the United States, the carriers operate more than 390 non-stop flights per day on 89 routes to and from 51 U.S. and eight Canadian destinations.
