Delta sponsors Latin Grammy Awards

Delta Air Lines’ will sponsor for the first time the seventh annual Latin GRAMMY Awards which this year will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 2, 2006. “The Latin GRAMMY Awards is a beacon for recognizing Latino talent who have soared high in their respective musical genres, and Delta is delighted to support this celebration of cultural diversity,” said Joanne Smith, Delta’s vice president of Marketing. “This sponsorship also compliments Delta’s continued commitment to our Hispanic and non-Hispanic customers as we expand to new, popular Latin American routes.”

Delta is constantly looking for new ways to improve the customer travel experience. In order to accommodate Hispanic travelers’ needs, Delta offers more than 495 convenient flights to 47 destinations in 26 Latin American and Caribbean countries. Additionally, Delta now allows Hispanic travelers to pilot through Delta’s Web site in Spanish to conveniently make online reservations, select seating assignments, check-in and manage their SkyMiles . Delta will also introduce Spanish-language self-service check-in kiosks early next year.

The Latin Recording Academy is a membership-based organization comprised of recording artists, musicians, producers and other creative and technical recording professionals who are dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural conditions for Latin music and its makers.
