Swiss expands Geneva-based network

SWISS is to introduce a new daily service between Geneva and Prague
on December 15. Services between Geneva and London City Airport will
also be increased to six daily frequencies from the same date.  With
the introduction of the new flights, SWISS will offer direct service
to 21 destinations from Geneva.

The new daily Geneva-Prague service will depart from Geneva at 11:40
on weekdays, arriving in the Czech capital at 13:25. The westbound
flight will leave Prague at 13:55 and arrive in Geneva at 15:35.
Services at the weekend will operate to different schedules.  All
flights will be operated using Avro RJ100 equipment.
SWISS service on the Geneva-London City route is to be increased from
four to six daily flights.  The main innovation here will be a
late-evening Geneva-London frequency which will return the following
morning, enabling UK-based travellers to arrive in Geneva as early as
09:30.
As a result of its recent resizing, SWISS is now recording black-ink
operating results for its Geneva-based network.  The company is now
building on this foundation, and taking advantage of an increase in
the availability of its regional aircraft fleet, to open the new
Prague route and raise its Geneva-London City capacity by a further
33%.
Other timetable adjustments
The introduction of the new services will entail certain changes to
other existing schedules. Service to Malaga will be reduced from
twice to once a week;  and modifications will also be made to the
Geneva-Zurich shuttle. The present morning service which departs from
Geneva at 06:35 will be moved to an evening departure at 19:00. In a
further change,  all Geneva-Zurich shuttle services will now be
operated by Airbus A320-family aircraft except the first morning
flight from Geneva and the last evening departure from Zurich.
With the introduction of the new flights, SWISS will offer direct
service to 21 destinations from Geneva. Eight of these will be served
by SWISS aircraft, while the flights on the other 13 routes will be

operated by partner airlines under codeshare agreements.
