Major plans unveiled for St James’s Hotel

The St James’s Club & Hotel in London, which is managed by Folio Hotels, has announced plans for its imminent redevelopment and renovation. The St James’s Club & Hotel will close at the end of October 2006 for a nine month £5,000,000 complete refurbishment, which will be designed by Parker Liddell and undertaken by Galliard Construction Ltd.

On its reopening in August 2007, the hotel will be restored to its former elegance in a contemporary and exceptionally smart manner with a total of 61 bedrooms, of which ten will be luxurious suites. A stylish lobby area, restaurant and bar, as well as four Meeting and Private Dining rooms will also be unveiled.

Parker Liddell were briefed to design an interior celebrating the very best of English style and tradition with a contemporary “surprise.”  The look they have created will be vibrant, luxurious, glamorous and spicy, but above all, comfortable.

As one of the handful of privately owned deluxe hotels in London, The St James’s Club & Hotel will appeal to the wealthy individual traveller who values bespoke service, comfort and recognition in an unparalleled location.

“The St James’s is a sleeping beauty”, enthuses Jonathan Orr-Ewing, General Manager. “We have quite simply the best location in London and the care and attention to detail our owners and designers have lavished on the scheme will ensure that we have a perfectly crafted town house of exceptional comfort and excellence. Very few General Managers have the opportunity to be involved in such an exciting project and I am looking forward to launching the new St James’s in August 2007.”
