Emirates Holidays joins PATA

Emirates Holidays has gained an influential platform to support expansion of its business in the dynamic Asia Pacific market, with membership of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the region’s recognised authority on travel and tourism. PATA membership also allows Emirates Holidays - the only Gulf region tour operator in the organisation - to provide PATA’s vast range of Asia Pacific members access to its in-depth Middle East market analysis, to help boost tourism from the region to their countries.

Thailand-based PATA, a non-profit membership association, works to sustain the growth, value and quality of travel and tourism to, from and within Asia Pacific. It provides leadership and advocacy to the collective efforts of public and private sector members across nearly 100 government, state and city tourism bodies; more than 55 international airlines and cruise lines; and hundreds of travel industry companies.

Emirates Holidays is one of a select few Gulf region organisations in PATA. Others include Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce, Jumeirah Group, Gulf International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Bahrain, and Qatar Tourism Authority.

Hans Haensel, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Destination & Leisure Management, said:

‘Emirates Holidays’ PATA membership provides us with a significant platform for Asia Pacific government-level lobbying, and will enable strategic development of business opportunities through events, market intelligence, and industry networking.’

Nicki Page, Director-Gulf Region, PATA, said: ‘We welcome Emirates Holidays to our growing list of key travel industry members from the region. The Gulf region is a large and growing source of travellers to Asia Pacific, with Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. the two biggest outbound markets in the Middle East both in volume and per capita terms.’

She added: ‘As a leading destination operator from the U.A.E, Emirates Holidays will be an able partner for PATA as we work together to enhance the value and quality of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific - the world’s most dynamic region.’

Emirates Holidays offers holiday products in 13 countries of Asia and Australasia: Sri Lanka; India; Pakistan; Thailand; Malaysia; Singapore; Philippines; Indonesia; China; Korea; Japan; Australia and New Zealand.
