Cabo Pacifica gets Nicklaus courses

Two extraordinary Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses in the spectacular new Cabo Pacifica resort at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula will be creating magic in the world of golf and in the realm of exclusive resort communities. Ernesto Coppel, president and CEO of Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts and Spas and developer of the project, announced today that Jack Nicklaus and Nicklaus Design will design—not one, but two—signature golf courses in Cabo Pacifica, an exclusive new 1,850-acre master-planned resort community with over three miles of dramatically beautiful beachfront adjacent to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

“Pueblo Bonito is one of the leading luxury hotel companies in Mexico, and with Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus Design team we are ready for the challenge of creating the best golf courses in Latin America,” Coppel said. “In Cabo Pacifica we have a unique property for creating a legendary golf experience; and with Nicklaus, the Golden Bear, we have the perfect partner to do it with.”

The Golden Bear will design 36 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature golf, many of them playing to or along the water. Located on the true Land’s End of the Baja Peninsula, Cabo Pacifica boasts some of the best and most diverse terrain for the establishment of world class golf, ranging from an expansive coastline to spectacular ocean cliffs. Beautiful coves, endless rolling dunes and majestic peaks offer Nicklaus a one-of-a-kind setting in which to create a true masterpiece.

“I get excited about each new project we undertake anywhere around the world,” Nicklaus says, “but when we have the opportunity to work on a unique site with a number of dramatic natural elements it really gets the creative juices flowing. Cabo Pacifica is one of those sites.”
