First ME by Melia opens in Madrid
ME Madrid Reina Victoria officially opens its doors today in the legendary
Hotel Reina Victoria, located in the Plaza de Santa Ana in the heart of
Madrid’s dynamic city centre. ME Madrid Reina Victoria represents Sol
Meliá‘s new daring, bold hotel concept of experience-based hotels, which is
characterised by passion for service, design, international fusion cuisine

ME Madrid Reina Victoria, is a hotel for business and pleasure. Its 192
rooms feature 300-thread count linen, down pillow top mattresses and
organic, all-natural products by AVEDA to be enjoyed under luxurious
rainfall showerheads. A state-of-the-art home theatre entertainment centre
featuring a 32-inch interactive plasma television and CD/DVD, surround
sound speakers, WiFi Internet access, an extensive in room library of CDs
and DVDs as well as iPod adaptors and connectivity docking stations will
keep busy professionals plugged in as well as entertained during their
stay. Additionally, guests who arrive without iPods may request a pre-set
iPod with over 900 songs to use throughout their stay.
While all the suites at ME Madrid Reina Victoria offer a private terrace,
the 110 m2 ‘Tower Suite’ offers breathtaking 360¼ views of the city. Once
the leading room choice of Spain’s legendary bullfighters, the Tower Suite
offers guests spectacular views from its two ample terraces.
In designing ME Madrid Reina Victoria, internationally-renowned British
architect Keith Hobbs of United Designers has maintained the beauty and
grace of the original architecture, while incorporating the spirit and edge
of ME by Meliá through the use of exclusively designed furniture,
innovative artwork and eclectic fixtures. The ambience of the space will be
skillfully orchestrated by the hotel’s Experience Manager.
ME Madrid Reina Victoria’s bar and dining venues are sure to attract the
city’s fashionistas, hipsters and movers & shakers. Rande Gerber, who along
with his brother Scott, is the founder of After Midnight Company and
creator of ME Madrid’s MIDNIGHT ROSE, the glamorous ground-floor restaurant
and lounge.
THE PENTHOUSE, also created by Rande and Scott Gerber, is a rooftop terrace
with the most spectacular views of the city and is destined to become ME
Madrid Reina Victoria’s hallmark hotspot. Rising-star and local talent
Jaime Renedo has been appointed executive chef, and will be responsible for
the creation and execution of the menus in both MIDNIGHT ROSE and THE
PENTHOUSE.

ME Madrid Reina Victoria will also offer 4,400 square feet (more than 400
square meters) of meeting, reception and conference space that can be
separated into seven individual spaces. Guests can also make use of the
24-7 Business Center, which features high-speed internet, computers,
facsimile and scanner.
ME Madrid Reina Victoria is centrally located with easy access to all major
attractions including the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia
Museums, Retiro Park, Parliament, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal
Palace and the business and shopping districts, with plenty of eating and
