The Air Transport Association has issued a statement regarding the confirmation of Mary Peters as
the new U.S Department of Transportation secretary.

The statement reads:

“I congratulate Mary Peters on her confirmation as secretary of
transportation,” said ATA President and CEO James C. May. “The Air
Transport Association and its member airlines look forward to working
closely with Secretary Peters on the pending reauthorization of the
Airport and Airway Trust Fund and other important transportation issues.
We welcome the secretary’s leadership in the continued advancement of a
safe, efficient and modern national air transportation system.”
