Koltes takes Estonia Swiss™tel position

Mr Michael Koltes has been appointed General Manager of Swiss™tel Tallinn in Estonia which is scheduled to open in summer 2007.In the meantime, Mr Koltes will head the pre-opening office and oversee the hotel’s pre-opening activities.

Prior to his new appointment, Mr Koltes was General Manager of Swiss™tel The Howard in London, where he took the helm since July 2005.

Possessing a wealth of international experience in the hospitality industry, Mr Koltes joined Swiss™tel Hotels & Resorts in 2000 as Resident Manager of the former Swiss™tel Dalian in the People’s Republic of China.  In November 2004, he moved to Turkey to assume the position of General Manager in Swiss™tel The Celik Palas, Bursa to oversee the re-development of the hotel.

Prior to that, Mr Koltes held various management positions in Food & Beverage in Hilton properties in China and Korea, as well as Mandarin Oriental in the Philippines and Indonesia.

Mr Koltes’ professional career also included years of experience with SAS Radisson in Kuwait and Brussels, P&O Princess Cruises, and Mövenpick.

A native German, Mr Koltes started his career as a Chef after completing a three-year apprenticeship at the Academic Training Hospital of the Johannes Gutenberg University, Ofmaine Merciful Brothers, in Trier, Germany.

Swiss™tel Tallinn will offer 237 rooms and is conveniently situated in a prime city location commonly known as the “Wall Street of Tallinn”, between Tartu and Raväla Street.  The 28-storey hotel is within 10 minutes’ walk from the Old Town known for its cobblestone streets, 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the passenger harbour and 15 minutes from the central railway station.  Swiss™tel Tallinn will be part of a multi-complex comprising a hotel, apartments and offices.  Upon completion in mid 2007, it will be Tallinn’s tallest building, boasting impressive views over the city and the Baltic Sea from the hotel’s top floor.  Hotel facilities include 2,500 square metres of conference and meeting facilities, food and beverage outlets, three executive floors, and a health club.
