Porter Airlines will begin accepting reservations tomorrow for its first scheduled flights between Toronto and Ottawa beginning Oct. 23. Information on fares and schedules for the carrier’s 10 round-trip flights each weekday and two Saturday and Sunday round-trips will be available through registered travel agents, on Porter’s website www.flyporter.com. One-way fares start at $120.

“After years of planning, we’re thrilled to finally bring our vision to life with the official launch of our reservation system,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “Porter will offer consumers a unique experience in every way, including a simple fare structure. Our variety of ticket options gives passengers the choice they need to balance their travel requirements, while Porter’s commitment to customer service ensures that all passengers are treated to the same exceptional experience.”

Customers can choose from Freedom, Flexible and Firm fare types that provide varying options including complimentary flight changes and cancellations, advance seat selection and same-day standby. The website will also allow for advance check-in.

Whether travelling to or from Toronto, passengers will benefit from the convenient location of Porter’s operating base at Toronto City Centre Airport (TCCA), which will dramatically reduce their travel time - including ground transportation, check-in, security, and aircraft taxi time - when compared to flights through Pearson International Airport.

Passengers originating in Toronto will have the opportunity to check-in at Porter’s downtown facility (on Station St. across York St. from Union Station), ride the complimentary shuttle bus to the TCCA’s new ferry terminal, and then take a short ferry ride across the channel to the airport.

At the airport, passengers can relax in Porter’s well-appointed lounge, enjoying amenities including wireless Internet access, business work stations and complimentary food and beverages.

From there, it’s only a few steps to board one of Porter’s 70-seat, Toronto-built Bombardier Q400 aircraft with leather seats and extra legroom. The ticket price includes complimentary in-flight premium snacks and beverage service, including beer and wine.

Arriving Toronto passengers have access to Porter’s shuttle service, which takes them to the airline’s Station St. facility, only minutes from downtown businesses, tourist attractions and residences.
