InterContinental Hotels Group has announced that
the Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Marietta recently opened.  The hotel marks the first 100
percent African-American owned full service hotel in metro Atlanta.  The 218-room,
ten-story property is owned by Roberts Hotels Group under a license agreement with a
company in the InterContinental Hotels Group and is managed by IHG.

The Roberts Hotels Group is a subsidiary of the Roberts Companies, owned by Michael
and Steven Roberts, two brothers ranked among the country’s most successful
African-American businessmen. The Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Marietta joins the Roberts
Hotels Group’s portfolio of hotels located in St. Louis, Mo., Tampa, Fla., and
Houston, Texas.

The Roberts Hotels Group has invested $5 million in renovations to the Crowne Plaza
Atlanta-Marietta including a new lobby featuring contemporary décor with marble and
wood accents throughout. New carpet, wall coverings and furniture have also been
updated in the common areas. In addition to adding wireless Internet access,
guestrooms will now feature new wall coverings and furniture, and the bathrooms
feature granite countertops and stainless steel sinks.

 

The hotel offers guests the option of choosing the Crowne Club floor for their stay
where they will enjoy complimentary breakfast, evening reception, and faxing and
printing services free of charge. The hotel will also offer parlor suites complete
with refrigerators, microwaves and wall mounted HDTV.

 

With the opening of the hotel, comes the introduction of The Roberts Bistro,
featuring American cuisine with signature dishes such as Blackened Scallops and
Roberts Southern Fried Wings and Chips. The Network Ultra Lounge is also a new
addition to the property. Both the restaurant and lounge are enclosed by glass
storefront walls which overlook the lobby.

 

The Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Marietta has an outdoor pool, business center,
complimentary shuttle service within a five mile radius and same day laundry and
valet.

 

The hotel features the newly introduced Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage which is
available at all Crowne Plaza hotels in the Americas.  The Sleep Advantage
encompasses the entire sleep experience, from training staff on how to create and
maintain a restful environment to providing innovative products and services.
