Abu Dhabi headlines publications
In the past two months, Abu Dhabi has dominated the travel pages of the UK and German leading publications. The authentic Arabian flavour and culture of the emirate, combined with the recent announcement of new hotels and exciting developments, has maintained the media’s interest and enthusiasm for Abu Dhabi as a leading leisure and business destination.
Resulting from a press trip to Abu Dhabi earlier in the year, a three page feature appeared in the leading UK celebrity lifestyle, OK! Magazine, with the headline ‘Fabby Dhabi’. The Times, the UK’s leading quality broadsheet, dedicated a whole page to the announcement of the Guggenheim Museum on Saadiyat Island after the arts editor, Jack Malvern, visited Abu Dhabi in July and the Daily Mail, the UK’s largest circulating national newspaper, focused on the opulence and glamour of the Emirates Palace.
Top German TV channel VOX ran an Abu Dhabi feature highlighting the diversity of the emirate focusing on the emphasis placed on nurturing Arabian culture and heritage.
In addition, Abu Dhabi continues to receive mentions in the leading prominent trade press, as an emerging and exciting destination, while the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority is noted for increasing its focus and energies on tour operator and agent awareness, with the launch of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Champions training programme in both the U.K. and Germany.
The total number of UK and German press cuttings and on-line articles for Abu Dhabi in June and July was 188; reaching a total circulation of 39,485,990.
