Jersey celebrates Tennerfest

Tennerfest brings together exquisite fresh produce and top chefs to celebrate Jersey’s cuisine for six weeks each autumn. The festival allows visitors and islanders to make the most of Jersey’s best cooking at reduced rates, with restaurants offering a variety of menus in three different price ranges: £10, £12.50 and £15.

The island’s restaurants offer frequently-changing menus to reflect seasonal delicacies such as local lobster, oysters and fresh langoustines. This year, St Helier’s Bohemia Restaurant is taking part, enabling visitors to experience a Michelin-starred meal for just £15. The menu includes grilled local scallops, home smoked duck, pot roasted maize fed Chicken, or poached organic salmon salad with Jersey Royals. Desserts include espresso tiramisu, or rhubarb and ginger fool.

Tennerfest is celebrating its ninth year, and is now firmly established as one of the highlights in Jersey’s culinary calendar. Last year the festival served over 100,000 meals and this looks set to increase for 2006. Over 100 restaurants take part in the festival, with diners able to sample everything from simple pasta dishes to jersey’s famously fresh seafood.Ê
