Frontier welcomes Taylor to board
Frontier Airlines has announced that Robert D. Taylor has been appointed to its Board
of Directors.With the addition of Taylor, the airline’s Board consists of
eight directors. Taylor has been appointed to serve a term through the
airline’s next annual shareholders meeting, which will take place in
September 2007.
“With his deep background in corporate management and operations, as
well his credentialed education and significant civic involvement, there is
no doubt that Frontier’s board has gained a true asset with the addition of
Robert,” said Chairman of the Board Sam Addoms. “Frontier is in the midst
of significant strategic growth and as we engage new opportunities outside
of our core mainline service, such as our Q400 regional operation, Frontier
will certainly benefit from Robert’s marketing, operational and financial
insights.”
Taylor has extensive senior leadership experience with a wide range of
companies from start-up to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries
including healthcare, entertainment, lodging, oil and gas, transportation
and consumer products and is a highly skilled and experienced counselor to
CEO’s and senior executive teams. In addition to his new Board
responsibilities, Taylor currently serves as Managing Director and was a
founding partner of Blue Capital Management, L.L.C., in Los Angeles,
California. At Blue Capital Management, L.L.C., Taylor plays a leadership
role in all aspects of the firm’s business including fundraising, deal
sourcing, deal negotiation and portfolio company oversight.
Prior to the formation of Blue Capital Management, L.L.C. in 1997,
Taylor was a Principal with McKinsey and Company where he was elected
partner in the Fall of 1992. While at McKinsey and Company, he gained
extensive experience in financial modeling, competitive analysis, executive
counseling and training and development in a variety of industries
including healthcare, insurance and entertainment.
Taylor, who received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the California
State University, Northridge; a Master of Business Administration from
Stanford Graduate School of Business and a J.D. from Stanford Law School,
is an accomplished speaker and published author. In addition to his current
volunteer service on two not-for-profit boards, Taylor currently serves as
Chairman of the Board of Cinema Screen Media as well as on the boards of
the National Urban League (Senior Vice Chairman) and the Los Angeles Urban
League and is also a member of the State Bar of California.
Taylor currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, Joy,
twin daughters Maria and Miranda, 12, and Jessica, 10.
