easyJet boosts UATP expansion

UATP continues its European
expansion, adding easyJet as its newest Merchant. To
meet customer demands, easyJet chose UATP as a form of payment while
expanding its European market share in the airline industry.

“Customer demand and low-fare pricing is what continues to drive the
market throughout the UK and Europe,” says David Osborne, UK regional
general manager, easyJet. “easyJet focuses on meeting these needs with
point-to-point air services throughout our network. The demand for UATP
acceptance by our corporate clients convinced easyJet to become a UATP
merchant. This is in line with our mission of good value through UATP’s
low-cost network and global presence.”
easyJet was founded with the mission to keep costs low while providing
excellent quality and customer service by eliminating unnecessary costs and
frills experienced by other airlines. Keeping distribution costs low has
been a key component of easyJet’s success through the use of the internet
where approximately 95% of its seats are sold. UATP will enhance easyJet’s
strategic plan through UATP’s mission of helping airlines lower
distribution costs with low merchant service fees and global network
available to all corporate travelers.
“Europe continues to see growth and profitability; easyJet has
positioned itself to capture these opportunities by including UATP in its
overall strategy,” said President and CEO Ralph Kaiser, UATP. “easyJet is a
leader in the airline industry and by accepting UATP it will be able to
increase its market share in the corporate travel arena. Companies will
profit from the relationship between UATP and easyJet through the low-fare
pricing offered by easyJet and superior data management capabilities
through UATP and AirPlus, UATP’s largest Issuer.”
