Northwest begins Air France codeshare

Northwest Airlines will begin codeshare implementation with Air France.This will benefit customers traveling through Northwests WorldGateway at Detroit hub and Air Frances Paris hub at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Effective September 2, 2006 Northwest and Air France will codeshare on each others nonstop flights between Detroit and Paris, offering customers more convenient flight options. In addition, the codeshare agreement will be expanded later this fall to include seamless connections for Northwest customers to numerous destinations throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East, served by Air France from its Paris hub, as well as connections for Air France customers to destinations throughout the USA from Northwests Detroit hub. The codeshare implementation enables each carriers customers to easily book reservations and enjoy convenient one-stop check-in and luggage service for connecting flights, while providing the expanded global reach of two airline networks.

Members of Northwests WorldPerks and Air France-KLMs Flying Blue frequent flyer programs will continue to receive accrual and redemption benefits on flights operated by both airlines.

Northwest World Business Class travelers and WorldClub members will continue to enjoy access to the Air France Business Class Lounge, located in Terminal E at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Air France First Class and Business Class international travelers will continue to enjoy access to WorldClub locations at Northwests WorldGateway at Detroit.
