Galileo signs on all major US carriers

Travelport has reinforced its position in the travel
industry by announcing that its Galileo GDS is the only GDS to have
secured full content with all seven U.S. network carriers. These deals
assure that the same fares shown by these carriers on their websites
will be secured for on-line and off-line travel agencies using the
Galileo system in the USA. All of these agreements have terms of at
least five years.

Galileo already has similar deals in place with carriers such as British
Airways, Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic and Qantas and with FlyBE, one
of over 50 Low Cost Carriers around the globe that participate directly
in the Galileo system. Other participants include JetBlue Airways, Air
Tran, Spirit Airlines and Air Arabia. Air content from AirAsia and
SpiceJet is also brought to agents via the innovative Galileo Flight
Integrator solution.

‘As a leading travel company we know how critical it is for travel
agents to have access to all content in one place,’ said Jason Clarke,
Managing Director, Galileo UK. ‘We are focused on reaching agreements
with airlines that address their distribution objectives and at the same
time enable our travel agency partners to offer their customers the very
best fares. Full content gives all parties involved in travel
distribution security and sustainability in their business models going
forward, whether they are GDSs, airlines or travel agencies. This is
well-illustrated by the longevity of the deals we have entered into with
the US majors.’

Galilieo has also been nominated this year for a
