JTB establishes mobile phone site

Japan Travel Bureau Inc (JTB) is establishing a mobile phone site to provide total online booking services for business travellers in September 2006, according to a report in Japanese World.The service will allow users to booking transportations and make changes and cancellations of bookings using their mobile phones. The company aims to increase revenue from its online booking service “Bzit” by 50 percent to JPY12 billion in the year ending March 2007, as a result of releasing this new service.

By registering membership, the online service may be used free of charge. JTB plans to further expand the service by enabling users to make hotel bookings through the site in the future.

Bzit is interfaced with the online ticket booking system of Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Central Japan Railway.
