Monarch launches online check-in

Monarch is rolling out it’s online check-in service to passengers travelling on scheduled flights from Birmingham, therefore reducing the required time spent at the airport and ensuring that seating on flights is allocated in advance.
Passengers booked to travel from Birmingham can check in for their flight via the airline’s website, www.flymonarch.com and issue a boarding card from the comfort of their own home. Online check-in is available from 24 to 4 hours prior to departure, or from 36 hours if you are a member of the airline’s frequent flyer programme, Vantage Club.

Online check-in can be used by all passengers with pre-allocated seats travelling on scheduled flights from Birmingham. If seats have not been pre-allocated at the time of booking, this can be done during the check-in process for the standard pre-book charge of GBP5. Alternatively, extra legroom seats, which offer an extra six inches of space, can be booked for only GBP15 (GBP20 on Canaries flights).

Commenting on the launch of online check-in at Birmingham, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled service division, Tim Jeans, said, “Birmingham is Monarch’s fastest growing airport and we are delighted that our rapidly expanding base of loyal passengers here are such early adopters and always keen to try new products and services.

“The launch of online check-in in Manchester last month has proved to be a huge success, with up to 20% of passengers already using the service. The Introduction of online check-in in Birmingham will speed up the check-in process for a large number of our passengers and we look forward to rolling the service out across our London bases in the coming months”.

Passenger’s taking advantage of online check-in and travelling with hand-baggage only can go directly to the departure gate on arrival at Birmingham Airport. Passengers travelling with hold baggage should first take their bags to the fast bag drop desk, where they will be tagged as normal and sent down to the aircraft.
