Gate Gournet appoints Asia boss

Gate Gourmet has appointed Mark E. Wall as President of its Asia/Pacific division and Group Senior Vice President, effective immediately. Wall joins the company after 22 years with General ElectricCorp.‘s plastics division in various executive capacities and locations around the world.

As president of the Asia/Pacific Division for Gate Gourmet,he oversees the operations of nine flight kitchens in sevencountries.

He is based in Tokyo, and reports to Guy Dubois, GroupExecutive Vice President, Finance and Administration ChiefAdministrative Officer.

“Mark’s extensive experience in the Asia/Pacific region will allow him to quickly assume the leadership role for ouroperations there,” Dubois said.

“We welcome the talent and expertise he brings to GateGourmet, which will be instrumental in our efforts to attractadditional Asia/Pacific customers to our network.”

Wall’s most recent position was as president of GE Plastics Japan, where he introduced Lean Manufacturing, implemented Six Sigma processes and spurred a 30 percent revenue increase overtwo years.

Before his appointment to the Tokyo position, he also served as president of GE Plastics in Shanghai, China, and South America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Prior positions included various management capacities inthe U.S. and Holland.

Wall holds a bachelor’s of science degree in plasticsengineering from Lowell Technological Institute (now theUniversity of Massachusetts at Lowell).
