Mexicana Air, Worldspan ink deal

Mexicana Airlines is signing a new multi-year agreement with Worldspan.Through the agreement, Mexicana will distribute its comprehensive schedule and fare offerings through the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS) using the airline industry’s most advanced solutions. All Mexicana published schedules, availability and fares, including last-seat availability and Web-based fares, are available worldwide to Worldspan’s retail and corporate subscribers, and to online travel buyers who purchase flights through Worldspan-connected travel Web sites.

In addition to distributing Mexicana’s full content, Worldspan will continue to support the airline’s use of Worldspan’s progressive IT solutions for airlines. Mexicana utilizes Worldspan’s renowned Rapid Reprice(R) technology, enabling the airline to serve its customers with the travel industry’s first and most advanced solution for repricing airline tickets when traveler itineraries change. Through Mexicana’s participation in Worldspan Airline Source(R), its flights and fares are distributed worldwide using the highest level of connectivity for airlines through the Worldspan GDS. Airline Source connectivity benefits Mexicana and its customers by creating a real- time, interactive link to the airline’s internal reservations system for last- seat availability, up-to-the-minute pricing, live seat maps, instant bookings and confirmations, and industry-leading e-ticketing capabilities.
