Hampton has announced its participation in a unified effort to bring goodwill to communities across Latin America in a program entitled Dia Hampton Con La Comunidad (Hampton Community Day). On August 4, 2006 Hampton Hotels located in the Mexican Republic, Costa Rica and Ecuador visited a local orphanage in their respective areas (all on the same day and most at the same time) to spread fun and learning to the children who call the orphanages home. In all, more than 500 children were read stories at orphanages across Latin America that day and as a special surprise at many of the orphanage events various gifts including food and books were given to the children as gifts by the hotel employees.

“Hampton is always striving to show its commitment to bringing goodwill into the communities in which its employees and guests work and live,” said Ruben Luna, Regional Director, Hampton Hotels Hotel Performance Support. Luna joined the general managers of the Hampton Inn & Suites Monterrey - North, the Hampton Inn Monterrey -Galerias Obispado, and the Hampton Inn & Suites Monterrey Mexico Airport in Monterrey, N. L for their events and was instrumental in the overall planning of this goodwill initiative. “It’s a pleasure to carry out this commendable work and offer enjoyment to those in need—we hope to make this an annual effort.
