Chalk’s adds Nassau service

Chalk’s International Airlines will begin flying new, land-based aircraft with flights to Bimini and Nassau/Paradise Island, Bahamas, from the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.Flights on the Beech 1900D aircraft with 19 seats will be available Thursday through Monday.

A VIP reception will be held prior to the flight’s departure from Fort Lauderdale. Obie Wilchcombe, Minister of Tourism for the Bahamas will be on hand for the festivities. Welcome receptions will also be held in Bimini and Nassau. Loaves of Bimini bread and Bahamian rum cakes are being prepared specially for the Chalk’s events.

“We are delighted to resume our scheduled service to Bimini and Nassau and we wish to thank all of those people who continue to support us,” said Roger Nair, General Manager for Chalk’s International Airlines in Fort Lauderdale.

“These premiere flights open a new chapter in the colorful history of Chalk’s International Airlines, started in 1919 by Arthur B. Chalk, whose passengers have been such noted celebrities as Errol Flynn, Judy Garland, Howard Hughes, Al Capone and several former U.S. Presidents,” Nair explained.

An advertising schedule in the Bahamas to announce the new flights includes television, print and radio as well as flyers, which will be distributed at Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets in Nassau.

Members of Chalk’s frequent traveler program will have access to a private lounge at Nassau Airport, which provides internet access, cocktails and beverages as well as light menu selections.

Charter flights for customized travel and groups business are available for travel throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean.
