Continental reveals special check-in site

Continental Airlines and Travel Incorporated, based in Duluth, Ga., have announced the launch of a new dedicated Web site that allows travelers to check in for their flights online. Customers who book their flights through Travel Incorporated will now be sent an e-mail within 24 hours of departure if they have not already opted to receive e-mails directly from Continental. The e-mail includes a link to the Continental Airlines/Travel Incorporated Web page, which allows customers to check in, print a boarding pass and select or change a seat assignment all at one time. As a dedicated Web page for check-in procedures only, access to continental.com’s general Web site is not permitted.

“This is the first co-branded airline/travel agency check in Web site in the country,” said Monisa Cline, staff vice president of North America Sales for Continental Airlines. “Business travelers appreciate the convenience of being able to expedite check-in, print their boarding passes in advance, and go directly to the gate.”

“Travel Incorporated has consistently been first to the market with the next generation of service and technological innovations,” said Mike Brown, president of Travel Incorporated. “We are gratified that Continental recognizes our unique technology capabilities in giving us this opportunity to expedite our travelers’ check-in process. This initiative is another example of Travel Incorporated’s commitment to invest whatever resources are needed to make the travel experience more convenient for our customers.”

Although Travel Incorporated is a launch customer, Continental is currently in discussions with other travel agencies to further expand this online check-in service.
