Singapore Airlines (SIA) is conducting due diligence on China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd a possible strategic investment in the Chinese carrier, the China Business News reported. Citing sources, the newspaper said that the due diligence exercise is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

A media officer with China Eastern declined to comment.

China Eastern president Li Fenghua said in April that the company will take on a foreign strategic investor by the end of this year, in a move to bring in new funds and management expertise.
