Third of Britons seek active holidays

11th Jul 2006

The number of Britons that are planning on taking an active holiday in the next 12 months will reach an estimated 13.6 million, according to a recent survey. This follows a period of successive growth, illustrated by a recent Mintel report that has documented a 37% growth in the activity holidays sector between 2000 and 2005.

In response to this trend, travel companies have developed and grown their activity programmes over recent years. Neilson, one of the biggest activity holiday companies in the UK, is offering a wider choice of activity holidays than ever before for this summer: Two NEW resorts are introduced - the three star plus Coralia Club in Dahab, Egypt - a year-round Active Centre - and the four star plus Beachplus Club Portomyrina Palace in Lemnos, Greece.
