Royal Jordanian gets 12% flier boost

The number of passengers carried aboard RJ aircraft in the January-May period of this year saw a 12% increase over the same period of last year.
The month of May alone registered a 20% increase over May of last year in terms of passengers carried by the airline.

Hussein Dabbas, vice president/Marketing, Sales and Services, said that more than 148,000 travelers flew on RJ aircraft during May 2006; the figure for the January-May 2006 period reached over 722,000 passengers. The highest increase was registered to Middle East, Arab Gulf and United States destinations.

The record of available booking statements shows encouraging figures for the current summer months, said Dabbas, adding that they mark an increase over the number of passengers transported during the summer of 2005, which was a record as well.

One of the leading reasons behind this growth is the introduction of new, modern aircraft offering convenience and entertainment, the overall improvement of on ground services and of the menu offered passengers on board, said Dabbas. Other reasons he mentioned are on-time performance and intensive training of human resources on the best means of serving passengers.

Dabbas also said that forecasts for June, July and August 2006 anticipate an increase of 20% over the same period of last year.
