Hotelzon acquires stake in ARoBS

Hotelzon is strengthening its development resources with the acquisition of a strategic stake in IT consultancy ARoBS Transylvania Software, based in Romania.

This acquisition is in line with the group’s strategy to confirm its position as the frontline hotel reservation technology provider.

ARoBs already provides Hotelzon with support and call centre services, also system development and the companies have worked together for the past two years.

Jouni Peltonen, Hotelzon Chief Technical Officer says: “ARoBS is a well-established, mid-sized IT consultancy company with a good reputation and skill base. This acquisition fits extremely well into our strategy of creating a top-of-the-class technology development team for the group.  This strategic shareholding further strengthens the mutual commitment in our co-operation and provides a good basis for long-term planning.”

ARoBS was founded in 1998 by Voicu Oprean. It is a rapidly-growing IT consultancy company based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with a reputation as a reliable and high-quality service provider.

Mr Voicu Oprean says: “I am very pleased about Hotelzon’s role as a shareholder in the company since that not only brings a more international aspect and network to our business, but is also a significant proof of the mutual willingness to create a long-term partnership. This is confirmation that we have excelled in the quality of our development work during the years of co-operation. It is also a step forward in our integration to EU.”

Hotelzon and ARoBS are currently working on developing market-leading technology called Hotelzon Online, a state-of-the-art online booking tool with extensive content and efficient location search facilities.

It will present users with a selection of available hotels and rates. For the corporate travel manager, it provides flexible policy compliance features that reduce costs and improve control over corporate hotel programmes - recent benchmarking by one of Hotelzon’s global clients showed a 20% saving in hotel costs. It also enables comprehensive online reporting tools.
