Kimpton biz centers feature Apple iMacs

Kimpton Hotels is partnering with Eleven
Wireless to deploy the hospitality industry’s first dual-OS business center computers, running
both Mac OS X and Windows XP simultaneously on a single Apple iMac. This deployment has
already occurred at 25 percent of Kimpton properties and will continue across the entire
Kimpton portfolio of 40 hotels in the U.S. and Canada, to create a more seamless work
environment for its guests.
“Some of our guests favor Windows and others prefer Mac. ElevenBC is tailored for
delivering a seamless experience for business travelers, regardless of their preferred
environment,” said Andrew Furrer, Kimpton’s vice president of technology.  “Just as we have
pioneered other guest broadband technologies, such as offering complimentary Wi-Fi, we will
again leverage cutting-edge technology to deliver services that will enhance the Kimpton guest
experience.”
Kimpton’s guest Wi-Fi service is renowned in the hospitality industry and is powered by
Eleven’s flagship software system, ElevenOS, to centrally manage the network.  Guests are
often taking advantage of the service, working on their laptops in the hotel living room lobby,
enjoying the complimentary service over a glass of wine

Kimpton collaborated with both Apple and Eleven to deliver a single, elegant, all-in-one
business center computer to ensure guest satisfaction. Eleven’s software ties everything
together for a seamless guest experience, enabling hotels to control branding, pricing and
reporting.
“Hotels need to deliver the same or better technology than business travelers have at
their home or office, said Josh Friedman, Eleven’s vice president of marketing. “ElevenBC is the
industry’s first solution to deliver both operating systems on a single platform with highly
advanced security and privacy tools to ensure guests get a high-quality, reliable and secure
business center experience.”
