In a recent survey, 62 percent of international travellers intend to visit Europe in 2006 and Italy is their top European destination.TripAdvisor’s recent survey of more than 1,800 travelers worldwide, also rated Italy’s top ten hotels, one of those that scored highly was the Furore Inn Resort

The coastline proved the perfect setting for the murderous Talented Mr Ripley and the movie adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel, motivated by the Amalfi Coast’s precipitous and plunging mountains that drop down into the Mediterranean Sea from the peaks of Mount Lattari.

Good views of the coastline come from the rooms and grounds of the Furore Inn Resort on the hills between Amalfi and Positano.

It is a hideaway resort and a good spot to base yourself if you want to explore the breadth of the Amalfi coast only a few kilometres away.

The La Volpe restaurant has traditional and tasting menus, as well as dishes that are made with local produce. It also includes a variety of seafood delivered daily and locally reared meats, while the “Italian Touch” restaurant has an extensive wine list.

The Furore Inn Resort has also been nominated as “Italy’s Leading Boutique Hotel” at this year’s World Travel Awards.
