Global tourism groups to meet in Taiwan

The Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA) and the Asia-Pacific chapter of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (APacCHRIE) is scheduled to hold their joint annual conference June 26-29 in the eastern Taiwan county of Hualien, organisers said Tuesday. The conference is being co-organized by the Taiwan Hospitality and Tourism College, the hospitality management and education section of National Taiwan Normal University’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies, National Taipei College of Nursing’s Graduate Institute of Tourism and Health Science, and Chinese Culture University’s Graduate Institute of Tourism Industry.

The event will bring together more than 300 academics and experts in hospitality and tourism from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and China, the organizers said.

The participants will present a total of 224 papers during the conference, they said.
