On June 8th, the inbound bmi flight from Manchester, scheduled to arrive at 1:20 p.m., will be met by the airport’s fire department and provided a congratulatory water arch spray over the aircraft. The passengers leaving Chicago at 6:30 p.m. will be treated to a champagne and cake send-off and given a special anniversary gift on board the aircraft.
The special anniversary fare sale begins June 8 through June 16, 2006 for travel to Manchester at $239 each way in economy, $489 in premium economy and $1489 in business class. For $16 more each way, travelers in any class of service can add London and the Scottish cities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow to their itinerary. A stopover in Manchester in either direction on the London or Scottish fares is permitted at no additional cost. These are non-refundable fares and require three nights or Saturday overnight stay. Changes can be made after departure for a $150 fee.
The anniversary sale fare is also being offered on bmi’s other transatlantic flights from Las Vegas to Manchester on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at $259 each way in economy, $509 in premium economy and $1509 in business class.

Passengers also have a bird’s eye view of their journey throughout the flight as a result of cameras mounted on the nose and belly of the aircraft.
Business class passengers receive extra pampering with their own chef, catering to their culinary tastes on every transatlantic flight. Using convection ovens, steamers and even a saucepan, the chef (trained as a bmi flight attendant) prepares the meals according to the passengers’ preferences.
