Press: Lufthansa to cut 200 mn euros in costs
Deutsche Lufthansa AG plans to introduce a new cost-cutting programme in the second half of this year that could allow the company to save up to 200 mn eur, industry sources told Handelsblatt.
A company spokesman declined to comment on the matter, but said that after the current 1.2 bln eur cost-cutting programme ends, another will be implemented.
The current programme runs through the end of this year.
‘After that there will be a new programme,’ the spokesman told the newspaper and reported on AFX news wire.
Separately, Handelsblatt wrote that former chief financial officer Karl-Ludwig Kley told the company’s Lufthanseat newsletter that the arrival of a new cost-cutting programme was as certain as, ‘people saying ‘Amen!’ in church.’
