Direct Fly chooses Radixx for reservations

Direct Fly has chosen Radixx International to provide the airline, its travel agents and its customers with one of the world’s most advanced Internet-based reservations and passenger management systems. Radixx powers billions of dollars in Web-based passenger transactions to more than two dozen airlines of all types and sizes on five continents.

The Orlando, Florida-based hosting technology company provides Direct Fly with a modern, user-friendly booking site for air travelers; a series of next-generation modules for Direct Fly’s call centers; and a Web-based portal that travel agencies use to make direct bookings on Direct Fly. This portal endows agents with the unique ability to pre-register and pay directly to, and reconcile with, Direct Fly, thereby bypassing the traditional global distribution system (GDS) channels. This portal ensures that Direct Fly and its agency sales representatives avoid unnecessary costs associated with other historical intermediaries that often divert or dilute an airline’s revenue from the sale of airline tickets and, consequently, an agent’s potential standard commissions.

Founded by the owners of European turboprop cargo carrier Sky Express, Direct Fly operates safe and highly reliable, passenger-friendly Saab 340A aircraft to four cities in Poland: Gdansk, Krakow, Warsaw and Wroclaw. Direct Fly’s business plan emphasizes affordable, nonstop or one-stop alternatives to traditional high-cost European carriers that offer little schedule or fare flexibility for last-minute travelers.

“Our customers represent a market that has been ignored for far too long. Many are owners of emerging business endeavors that must closely monitor their air travel expenditures. Radixx’s Air Enterprise(TM) system is the perfect Web-based solution to complement our simple, convenient point-to-point air services in these under-served markets,” said Jan Szczepkowski, president of Direct Fly. “Air Enterprise gives us an exceedingly user-friendly booking tool for consumers and travel agents, simultaneously giving our managers an affordable but exceptionally powerful tool to help us develop and mature an efficient schedule and fare structure. We can offer everyday low fares and do so profitably.”

“We are excited to play a small role in facilitating new market-competitive services in a rapidly growing segment of the European economy,” said Ron Peri, president and chief executive officer of Radixx International. “As one of the world’s newest airlines, Direct Fly is the latest voice in a growing chorus of innovative carriers in the USA, Mexico, Africa and elsewhere in the world where Radixx solutions play a crucial role in securing long-term success. From initial booking to flight closeout, station dispatch and specialized reporting and planning, Radixx develops solutions that airlines need to sustain and grow a sound entrepreneurial business plan.”
